Puffco Peak Models: Know Which One You Have Before You Buy Glass

This is the part most guides skip, and it’s the reason people end up with glass that doesn’t fit. Puffco has released three versions of the Peak, and they don’t all use the same glass.

Puffco Peak OG

The original Peak, released in 2018. The base still has its original puck size that accepts all after market Puffco Peak glass. This version is a little outdated I would recommend looking at the new peak or the peak pro.

Puffco Peak Pro

Released in 2021. Added Bluetooth app control, a redesigned chamber, and improved temperature accuracy. The puck size on the Pro is the same as the OG — same diameter, same locking mechanism. That means most glass marketed as “Peak Pro compatible” will also fit the OG, and vice versa. Puffco has kept the base diameter consistent across these two generations, which is smart for aftermarket compatibility.

The New Peak (V2)

The third-generation Peak launched in 2024. Puffco redesigned the base, and the glass attachment system changed. New Peak atomizer is specifically made for the New Peak and is not backward compatible with the OG or Pro atomizer. All the glass tops will fit the new V2, just make sure when buying a joystick cap, the needle is short enough to fit in the smaller V2 Peak atomizer.

Is All Puffco Glass Compatible?

Short answer: Yes. the new Peak V2,OG and Peak Pro glass attachments are cross-compatible. New Peak glass is its own atomizer though and its a little smaller than the OG peak atomizer and 3DXL Chamber. When shopping for aftermarket glass, all the tops are compatible with each other but make sure if you have the new V2 Peak that you buy a shorter joystick cap for the atomizer.

Types of Puffco Glass Tops

Puffco glass attachments fall into four categories. Two of them affect function. Two of them are mostly about looks.

Stock OEM Glass

Puffco’s own replacement glass — hand-blown borosilicate with their standard perc hole design. It’s well-made, fits perfectly, and performs as intended. If your glass cracked or you want a backup, the OEM replacement is the safe, reliable choice. Puffco sells them directly and authorized retailers stock them. Clean, no-frills, does the job.

Functional Aftermarket Glass

This is where the real upgrades live. Functional glass from brands like roots glass adds percolators — honeycomb, recycler, fab egg, swiss perc — that actually filter and cool the vapor better than stock glass. If you dab at lower temps and care about flavor, a well-designed scientific glass top will noticeably improve your sessions. Look for recyclers and bubblers built specifically for the Peak form factor. They’re usually borosilicate, clear or lightly colored, and built for function over flash.

Heady / Artist Glass

Hand-blown, one-of-a-kind pieces made by glass artists. Octopus tentacles, Chinese takeout boxes, Christmas trees, Japanese koi fish — the Puffco community has built a whole ecosystem of wild custom tops. They’re genuinely impressive to look at. From a functional standpoint, they’re about the same as stock glass — the art is in the form, not the filtration. If you want to personalize your Peak and aren’t chasing performance gains, artist glass is great. Just expect to pay $100–$400+ and protect it accordingly.

Travel Glass

Puffco makes a travel glass that locks into a closed position for transport — prevents spills and keeps water from moving around in your bag. It’s shorter than standard glass and designed for portability. Worth having if you move your Peak around often. Third-party travel-style glass also exists with similar locking mechanisms.

What to Look for When Choosing a Puffco Glass Replacement

Past confirming compatibility with your model, here’s what actually matters.

Percolator Type

If smooth, cool hits are the goal, prioritize glass with a real perc. Recyclers recirculate water constantly and deliver some of the smoothest hits you can get at this form factor. Honeycomb percs offer excellent filtration with minimal drag. Showerhead percs are solid middle-ground. Simple splash guards or single-hole percs are barely better than stock. Don’t pay for perc complexity unless it actually changes the hit — a well-built recycler top from MJ Arsenal will outperform any amount of decorative glass.

Height and Neck Style

Standard Peak glass runs around 5–6 inches tall. Taller aftermarket pieces (7–9 inches) give more vapor path and cooling — great for big dabs. Shorter glass hits hotter and is more compact. Neck style is personal preference: straight necks sit upright, bent necks angle toward you, sidecar necks come off the side for a different hold. None of these is functionally better — it’s about what feels right in your hand.

Glass Thickness and Build Quality

Peak glass takes some abuse — it pops in and out frequently, gets cleaned with alcohol regularly, and sits on a $300+ base. Thin glass chips and cracks. Look for pieces that specify thick borosilicate construction. MJ Arsenal and Calibear Glass both make functional aftermarket tops with solid build quality. Artist glass is usually hand-blown and varies — inspect photos carefully and buy from sellers with good return policies.

Where to Buy Puffco Peak Glass

For OEM replacements, Puffco.com is the source. Authorized retailers also stock them, usually at the same price point ($59–$80 for standard glass).

For functional aftermarket glass, we carry a selection of Puffco glass tops and accessories for both the Peak OG/Pro and New Peak. These are the picks we’ve tested and stand behind — scientific glass that actually improves the hit, not just looks good in a photo.

For heady artist glass, Calibear Glass, Empire Smokes, and Zee Vapor carry large selections of custom tops. Expect prices from $80 to several hundred dollars depending on the artist. Reddit’s r/puffco is also a useful community for recommendations on reputable glass artists.

How to Clean Your Puffco Glass Top

Keep it simple. 90%+ isopropyl alcohol is your tool. After every 5–10 sessions, pop the glass off the base and give it a rinse with iso. For light buildup, a quick swirl and rinse is usually enough. For heavier buildup — or if you’ve let it go too long — fill the base chamber with iso and let it soak for 15–20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water and let it dry completely before the next session.

Never use water alone — it doesn’t cut wax residue. Don’t use dish soap inside the glass if you can avoid it. And dry the glass fully before reassembly — water in the atomizer area causes problems. The quicker you clean after a session, the easier it is. Reclaim hardens fast.

When to Replace Your Puffco Glass

Replace your Peak glass when:

  • It’s cracked, chipped, or has a visible fracture — cracked glass affects airflow and is a safety issue
  • Airflow feels restricted even after thorough cleaning
  • Flavor is consistently off even on freshly cleaned glass — sometimes residue absorbs into micro-cracks in old glass
  • You want better function — if you’ve been running stock glass and want to try a recycler top, that’s a valid reason
  • You want a different aesthetic — there’s no required reason beyond wanting something new

Stock glass doesn’t “wear out” under normal use the way an atomizer does. If it’s clean and unbroken, it works. Replacement is usually driven by damage or wanting an upgrade — not planned obsolescence.

Can you replace Puffco Peak glass?

Yes. The glass on every Peak model is designed to be user-removable. It twists or pops off depending on the model — no tools needed. Replacement glass is widely available from Puffco directly and from third-party retailers. The swap takes under a minute.

Is all Puffco Peak glass the same?

No. The Puffco Peak OG and Peak Pro share the same glass base diameter and are cross-compatible. The New Peak (2024) uses a different attachment system and requires glass made specifically for it. Always check model compatibility before purchasing aftermarket glass.

Will Puffco replace broken glass?

No. Puffco’s warranty covers the electronic base and battery for one year — defects in materials and workmanship only. It explicitly does not cover glass, atomizers, normal wear and tear, or accidental damage. Broken glass is a replacement purchase, not a warranty claim.

Is aftermarket Puffco glass worth upgrading to?

Depends what you want. If you’re chasing functional improvement — smoother hits, better flavor at lower temps — a scientific glass top with a real percolator (recycler, honeycomb, fab egg) is worth it. Expect to spend $60–$120 for quality functional glass. Heady artist glass is worth it for aesthetics, not function.

Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. Straight tube bongs have a chamber that fills up quickly and pulls smoke faster when you inhale. Beaker bongs, on the other hand, have a larger water chamber, allowing for more laid-back hits when you tilt them back, but they require a stronger pull when inhaling.
