Terp Pearls & Pillars

Terp Pearls & Pillars

Quartz, ruby, sapphire, and SiC terp pearls plus pillars and inserts for slurper bangers. Better heat distribution, even concentrate movement, more flavor per dab. Sets and singles in 4mm and 6mm.

How terp pearls work

Terp pearls are small heat-resistant spheres that go inside your quartz banger before you torch it. When you take a dab and pull through the rig, the pearls spin with the airflow — distributing concentrate evenly across the hot bucket and dramatically improving vaporization.

Materials

  • Quartz — most common, fair price, neutral flavor.
  • Ruby and Sapphire — denser, better heat retention, higher price.
  • SiC (silicon carbide) — best heat conductivity, most expensive.

Sizes

  • 4mm — for smaller bangers.
  • 6mm — standard for most flat-top bangers.
  • Pillars — designed for slurper bangers (vertical posts, not spheres).

How to use

Drop pearls into a cool banger, heat the banger normally, let cool to your dab temp, drop the concentrate, cap — pearls spin, dab vaporizes evenly.

FAQ

Do terp pearls actually make a difference?

Yes. They distribute concentrate evenly across the hot surface so it all vaporizes at once instead of pooling. You taste the difference, and you waste less concentrate.

How many pearls do I need?

Most setups use 2 pearls in a flat-top banger or 1 marble + 2 pillars in a slurper. More isn’t better — too many pearls and they don’t move freely.

Why aren’t my pearls spinning?

Either too much concentrate (drowning them), wrong size for the banger (too big, no room to move), or your carb cap doesn’t generate enough airflow (try a directional cap).

Quartz vs. ruby pearls — worth the upgrade?

Marginal flavor improvement. Ruby and sapphire hold heat slightly longer, which can help with low-temp dabs. Most smokers don’t notice the difference.

4mm vs. 6mm pearls

Pearl size matters more than people think. 4mm pearls work in smaller bangers (15mm and 20mm bucket diameter). 6mm is standard for 25mm and 30mm bangers. Too big and they don’t move; too small and they don’t distribute concentrate effectively.

Quartz vs. ruby vs. sapphire vs. SiC

  • Quartz — most common, neutral flavor, hold heat moderately.
  • Ruby/Sapphire — denser, retain heat longer, slightly better for low-temp dabs. More expensive.
  • SiC (silicon carbide) — best heat retention, distributes heat fastest. Most expensive.

For 95% of dabbers, quartz pearls are perfectly fine. Ruby and SiC are upgrades that mostly benefit dedicated low-temp dabbers.

Pillars for slurper bangers

Slurper bangers don’t use spheres — they use vertical “pillars” (small posts) that move differently in the slurper’s slotted geometry. Don’t substitute pearls in a slurper; they don’t work right.

Cleaning pearls

Drop pearls in 91%+ iso for 10 minutes, rinse, pat dry. Don’t torch pearls directly — thermal shock can crack them. If pearls have heavy buildup, soak overnight.

Why aren’t my terp pearls spinning?

Three causes: too much concentrate (drowning them), wrong size for the banger, or your carb cap doesn’t generate enough directional airflow. Try less concentrate first, then a directional cap.

Can I use marbles instead of terp pearls?

Real terp marbles (made for dabbing) — yes. Decorative glass marbles — no, they’re not heat-rated and will crack.

How many pearls should I use?

Most setups: 2 pearls in a flat-top banger. Slurper: 1 marble plus 2 pillars. More isn’t better — too many pearls and they jam each other.

I really like this rig but I was expecting it to be a little bigger. The description said 9 inches but I would say it’s more 6 inch range . I attached photo with it next to my 8 inch bubbler to show size. Most of my rigs are 4 to 6 inch range. I just wanted something a bit bigger. If was looking for something in the 6 inch range. This would be perfect. I would recommend downsizing to a 10 mm adapter. It’s not a necessity but I feel it makes the draw smoother but it’s a great rig for $100 price point. It seems to be built well and have enough to be used with an Enail.

Got what I wanted, parts were safely wrapped, overall great product. Didn’t come broken, nothing out of the ordinary.

Fast shipping and great packaging of the piece. The rig hits exactly as I hoped, with the tornado effect. The glass itself could be thicker in general. But mostly for further peace of mind. For this model, I wish it were the same height as the "double wu" rig. Worth it and great purchase experience. Especially the email customer service!

ok the recycler action on this thing is mesmerizing, watching the water cycle while you rip is half the fun. RBR colorwork is clean too, heavier than my old hammer and the pulls are way smoother. def my new daily 🔥
