How do you use a Dab Rite?

To use a Dab Rite: position the IR sensor 0.5″–1.5″ below the banger bottom, set your target dab temp (typically 430–480°F for quartz), torch the banger as usual, and wait for the beep before dabbing. Setup takes about two minutes.

1. Position the sensor. Place the Dab Rite next to your rig with the IR sensor pointing up at the bottom of your banger. The ideal distance is 0.5”–1.5” from the bottom. The Dab Rite has an LED guide light to help center the sensor correctly.
2. Set your target temperature. Dial in your preferred dabbing temp. Most people land between 430–480°F for quartz. The unit will alert you when the banger cools to that temp.

Is the Dab Rite accurate?

Yes — the Dab Rite is accurate within roughly ±4°F when the sensor sits 0.5″–1.5″ below the banger bottom in the same position every session. IR thermometers read surface temperature, not core temperature, but the banger’s outside-bottom surface is a reliable proxy when read consistently.
