The Dab Rite is a digital infrared thermometer designed to give dabbers complete control over temperature. By reading the surface temperature of your quartz banger or nail, it removes the guesswork of torch timing and ensures smooth, flavorful dabs every time.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
What Is a Dab Rite: A digital IR thermometer that measures your banger’s temperature without contact.
Why It’s Useful: Eliminates overheating, protects quartz, and preserves flavor.
Setup & Use: Adjust your desired temp, position the sensor, and wait for the light and sound alerts.
Ideal Range: Most users dab between 450°F–550°F for flavor and vapor balance.
Maintenance Tip: Keep the sensor lens clean and recalibrate occasionally for accuracy.
SETTING UP YOUR DAB RITE
1. Power On
Press and hold the power button for one second until the display lights up. The device will start in standby mode.
2. Adjust Temperature
Press the Menu button once to open the temperature setting.
Use the Left and Right buttons to choose your preferred temperature.
Press the Menu button again to toggle between °F and °C.
💡 Most users start around 500°F for balanced hits.
3. Select Your Banger Type
The Dab Rite is pre-calibrated with emissivity settings for both clear quartz and opaque quartz.
Choose the correct material for accurate readings.
4. Enable Alerts
You can turn light and sound alerts on or off in the menu. When both are enabled, the Dab Rite will flash and beep as soon as your banger reaches your target temp.
HOW TO USE A DAB RITE (STEP-BY-STEP)
1. Position the Sensor
Adjust the flexible arm so the infrared sensor sits about ½ inch from the bottom or side of your banger. Triple-click the right button to turn on the LED guide light for easy alignment.
2. Heat Your Banger
Use a butane torch to heat your banger until the Dab Rite display reads “Too Hot.” Then stop heating and watch as the temperature gradually drops.
3. Wait for the Alert
As the banger cools, the Dab Rite will beep and flash when your preset temperature is reached — this is your perfect dab window.
4. Take Your Dab
Place your concentrate into the banger, cap it, and inhale slowly.
Use consistent timing for identical results each session.
5. Cooldown & Cleaning
After dabbing, place the banger near the sensor again. The device will sound a “Dunk Alarm” when it’s cool enough to clean safely.
Use 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs to remove residue from your banger.
🧽 Wipe the sensor lens lightly with alcohol on a cotton swab to maintain accuracy.
COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID
Overheating the Banger: Going past 700°F can burn concentrates and damage quartz.
Skipping Calibration: Without periodic calibration, readings may drift slightly.
Dirty Sensor Lens: Dust or residue can block the IR beam and cause false readings.
Ignoring Emissivity Settings: Always select the correct quartz type for accurate temps.
Holding the Sensor Too Close: Keep about ½ inch distance for precise measurement.
Dab Rite Alternatives
If you love low-temp, flavor-packed dabs but don’t want to rely on a Dab Rite, there are several alternatives that offer precise temperature control, faster read times, and better portability. At the top of the list is the Terpometer — a compact, accurate, easy-to-use device that gives real-time heat readings directly from your banger, making it one of the most reliable Dab Rite replacements for everyday dabbers and pros alike.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Dab Rite Pro features a full-color display, longer 10" arm, light and sound alerts, customizable profiles, and advanced emissivity settings for better precision. The standard Dab Rite offers the same accuracy with a simpler interface.
For most extracts, 450°F–550°F offers the best flavor and smoothness.
Rosin & Live Resin: 480°F–520°F
Wax & Shatter: 500°F–550°F
Crystals or Diamonds: 520°F–560°F
It uses a non-contact infrared (IR) sensor to read the heat from your banger’s surface. The sensor detects infrared light emitted by the hot surface and converts it into a temperature reading in real time.
Dip a cotton swab in a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the sensor lens. Avoid pressing hard or touching the inside of the housing. Always power off the device before cleaning.
It’s optimized for quartz bangers, but it can still measure ceramic or titanium nails — just note that emissivity readings may vary slightly depending on material reflectivity.
Every few months, or if your readings start to seem inconsistent. The calibration process can be accessed through the menu and usually takes less than a minute.
